A literary person, poen and well known writer Dr Tanveer Abbasi


Dr Tanveer Abbasi was born on 7th December 1934 at sobhodero, district khairpur. He set new trends in poetry and gave the progressive lead to younger writers and poets. His influence on sindhi literature is described as formative. His work has played in important role. His poetical work distinguished him from other poets of his time. The lyricism of his verse finds strength in the use of similes that he draws from real life which immediately captured his audience who respond as the images are transmitted through recognition and association.
It is the nobility of thought and the purity of passion that inform his Verse. His verse is a dialogue with the human soul, an active conversation that engages and enables the mind and liberates the creative energies. He was a dynamic person who remained active on many fornts simultaneously. His association with the the bazm e Sofia sindh, bizm e khalil, sindhi adabi sangat, sindh forums, sachal sarmast yadgeri committe and many other organizations heightened their stature and resulted in thier improvement. He died in Islamabad on 25 November 1999.
